School trips

Curriculum trips:

We have an exciting new offer coming for 2025! Staff have worked hard to source trips that are local to our area, enhance our curriculum subjects,  are inspirational and may influence pupils to seek out clubs or family days linked to the trip, and some that ignite curiosity for future learning. Pupil-voice told us that the pop up pool and paddle boarding was a firm favourite, so we have included 2 water-based trips into our schedule. We also have visitors who embed the learning from some of our topics, such as for history.

Special interest trips:

We have enjoyed offering small groups of children the opportunity to attend a free specialist trip that is linked to their favourite subject.

For example, some year 5 pupils attended Churchers College and HTC for STEM activities.

Some of our dedicated mathematicians attended Aim high at Front Lawn Academy to take part in a series of complex maths problems and activities. Many of our children have taken part in sporting opportunities - see our separate page for these events! This year, we have secured an even wider range of trips to spark our children's curiosity. Some of our animal enthusiasts will be going to Marwell zoo in November, and we will also be taking some historians to see the Mary Rose in Portsmouth.

Residential trips:

In year 4, our children have been to Fort Purbrook for a day and night, enjoying a range of adventurous activities with their peers in the summer months. It is a great experience for them to stay away (often for the first time), and to develop their confidence and self-belief.  We are currently reviewing our next location and will share this when dates have been confirmed.

Year 6 visit Fairthorne Manor in the Autumn, which is just one of the many ways that  helps to build their close bond with each other, ready for their final year with us. They always amaze us with their resilience and courage, and impress us with how they support their friends to take risks or try new things.
